OrbitalNet Ltd is currently trialing Wimax class wireless links capable of delivering 100Mbit to the end user. So far, the tests have proved very positive and we are hoping to roll out this new product across Kent from the beginning if 2011. Vfast Ltd who provide residential connectivity using the Orbital Backbone are also looking to roll out this technology next year.

Orbital Installs Kings Hill Feed

Orbital, in partnership with Vfast Internet, Kent based residential wireless ISP has now installed a super fast backhaul for Kings Hill, West Malling. Kings Hill recently lost its connectivity when wireless ISP Quickanet disconnected the local network. Kings Hill which has 2,200 houses is now dual fed from different parts of Orbital Nets core and VFast customers are enjoying speeds of upto 20Mbit. Kings Hill which is connected to the West Malling exchange will soon be enabled for FTTC and BT have indicated a commitment to enabling the cabinets local to residents. This will further enable VFast to expand its offerings to Kings Hill.

Orbital Net Ltd, has now commissioned multiple high speed backhaul links into Preston in Kent for VFast Ltd. VFast will be upgrading existing customers to their new Wi-Max class network in Preston and end users can expect to achieve speeds of 20Mbit. Orbital Net has today completed the network infrastructure upgrades to our Maidstone core WiMax class network. Customers will be migrated onto the new network in the coming weeks. Business customers will now be able to enjoy faster speeds and lower latency across all our wireless PoP’s. These upgrades go hand in hand with our new voice service which will be released this month. Orbital Net Ltd has commissioned a high capacity network to Hull providing customers of Quickline Communications with high speed access. Steve Jagger quoted “We are very pleased with the new backhaul service and can now concentrate with building out the network to our customers, Orbital have made the solution seamless with no downtime”

OrbitalNet Ltd have now commisioned a fibre circuit for Vfast Internet to upgrade the capacity to serve the Barham residential network.
